The smartisan’s exhibition saw some of the most beautiful, creative, stylish, brilliant and fashionable people from Guwahati come together. What a wonderful time it was to be in the city to showcase our designs, collection and dolls- Guwahati is a dreamers dream and with the puja’s right around the corner the city was buzzing with excitement and preparations for welcoming the Goddess Durga. The day before the event we went shopping for flowers, for our doll display, near the river Brahmaputra. Carrying dozens of the prettiest white flower’s we took a long stroll along the bank watching the boats returning to the dock and enjoying the sun setting over the majestic river of Assam.
On the day of the event, as we entered Vivanta, we were welcomed by thousands of tiny golden lights prancing in the air, the venue was decked like a bride. We gasped, with eyes wide open, wishing we could swish and dance around wearing our PML skirts like happy little girls. As we started decorating our stall curious onlookers started gathering. We explained how over the years we have been loved and supported by many wonderful people in Assam and we wanted to celebrate our first fashion exhibition in Guwahati so we chose to decorate our stall with black, white and pink boats as a tribute. The colors black and white signify our brand PML's logo and the color pink signifies our Nungshiba Handicrafts.
Sajma Parvez, one of the partner from Stoic marketing solutions, chose our wine slit cocktail dress from our fall collection for the exhibition. Sajma is as smart and intelligent as she is stunningly gorgeous. When she walked in wearing the slit cocktail dress every head in the room turned. Tackling one interview after the other, multi-tasking and all the while running the show effortlessly with her team, Sajma was a picture of true beauty with brains.
It was a pleasant surprise when women from Arunachal, Manipur, Sikkim, Mizoram and Meghalaya also turned up to support us. The people from Assam were also a delight. Guwahati being the gateway to the Northeast of India it has become a melting pot of cultures and people from different regions and communities. That is what makes Guwahati such an endearing place. The Smartisans exhibition showcased the best of fashion, creativity and talent of the designers and artisans from the Northeast of India and the best people also came together to help celebrate the goodness the region has to offer. As the day came to an end we realized so many strangers already knew ‘Preciousmelove’, so many visited to say hello or dropped by to get some precious.
Participating in exhibition's like these are amazing, you meet and make so many wonderful new friends, it inspires you and it renews your love for humanity all over again. Weeks after we got back to Nagaland one of our new found friend from Guwahati called. “We love Preciousmelove... We are so proud to have such an amazing brand growing from our very own Northeast India”, said Salma Sultana Ahmed. After the call, ecstatic and delighted, we jumped and danced around. Guwahati is fabulous just like its people! Preciousmelovey Assamok khoob bhal pai.
